Bhopal- In Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, a Dalit youth was brutally beaten and then forced to rub his nose on the accused's feet, in a disturbing incident that has sparked outrage across social media. The video capturing this incident went viral, prompting authorities to take action. Police have registered a case against six individuals under various sections, including atrocities against Scheduled Castes.

The incident occurred on the night of February 8 when the victim, along with his friend, went to Dewas to celebrate his birthday. A dispute over a financial transaction escalated, leading to the accused, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, assaulting the Dalit youth. The assault was severe, rendering the victim unconscious.

In the viral video, the accused, identified as Shubham and his associate Raghuvanshi, are seen coercing the victim, Ramsingh, to submit to their demands. Ramsingh, with folded hands, pleads for mercy as the accused instruct him to perform humiliating acts. Despite his protests, Ramsingh is forced to comply with the demeaning orders.

According to police reports, Ramsingh Makwana, the victim, hails from Chandesara in Nagjhiri area of Ujjain. The main accused, Shubham Rajput, is also from Ujjain and shares a friendship with Ramsingh. Both individuals are involved in the buying and selling of land. The altercation between the two arose during a birthday celebration at a local dhaba, where other friends of Shubham were also present.

Ramsingh, in his statement to the police said, Shubam had been his friend for six months, however, he denied any financial transaction with him and recounted being brought to Dewas under false pretenses. He alleged that a ransom of Rs 5 lakh was demanded from him after a video, presumably manipulated, surfaced implicating him in the transaction. Ramsingh promptly reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrests.

BNP police station in-charge Amit Solanki informed that based on the complaint filed by the victim, the police have registered a case against six accused, including Shubham Rajput from Dattana in Ujjain district, Nitin alias Ammu Hatila, aged 19, from Chuna Khana in Balgarh, Govind alias Goga Modi, aged 20, from Laxmipur, and Tilakraj Rathore, aged 20, from Nipania village in Dewas district, along with two other suspects. Additionally, four of the accused, namely Shubham, Nitin, Govind, and Tilakraj, have been arrested, while two are still at large.
