Rajasthan: In today's time when girls are achieving glory and have brought laurels to their parents, country, and society with their excellent performance in sports from country to abroad, some still have to face ill-treatment with themselves. The latest case is from Rajasthan where a promising tribal girl is being stopped from moving forward in sports. A promising tribal college student, who is bringing glory to herself and her society in sports as well as studies, has to raise her voice against the ill behavior with her today.
Pista Meena, a tribal Kabaddi player from Rajasthan and a second-year student at Khajuri Nainwan PG College who has participated in Kabaddi several times in state and district level games, has leveled serious allegations against the sports administration.
"I had gone to play Karauli Kabaddi from PG college and secured the second position. There the selectors were impressed by my game and they told me that you have been selected for the national. Whenever the team moves to the national level, you will be informed," she said.
She further said that in the beginning when the team got selected for the national level her name was there but in the end, the selectors dropped it. "I saw the names of the entire team but just my name was nowhere in it," she said.
Meena said that in her place, the player who was selected as an extra player.
"I contacted the responsible authorities and they replied that I have not been selected and someone else has been selected in my place. When I asked her name, they told me the name of the girl who was an extra player. The player who has been selected has not played a single match," she said.
Talking to The Mooknayak, Meena said that no one is ready to answer her questions. "When I asked them (responsible) how to select his (other player's) name, no one was ready to answer me," he said.
Meena clearly told the correspondent of The Mooknayak that the Sports Department and its people are responsible for this whole matter.
"This is the second time I have been stopped from moving forward," she says.
"We have submitted a memorandum in the name of Sports Minister Ashok Chandna ji to the Collector regarding action on this matter. I hope justice will be served," said Meena on the whole matter.
Many social activists have raised their voices on this entire incident on social media.
