New Delhi- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed confidence that women-led startups will propel India onto the global stage in the coming years. He made this statement while virtually inaugurating eight new NIDHI Inclusive Technology Business Incubators (i-TBIs) across the country, along with launching a new DST-NIDHI website during an event at IIT Delhi. The event marked the celebration of eight years of the Department of Science and Technology's (DST) NIDHI initiative.

The newly launched i-TBIs, set up at institutions such as the Central University of Rajasthan, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Punjab, and others, aim to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among students, faculty, and local communities.

Dr. Singh also introduced the DST-GDC IIT Madras INCUBATE Program for Deep Tech Startups. This program, funded by alumni of IIT Madras, seeks to support innovators, particularly from Tier II and Tier III cities, and assist startups at critical growth stages.

Reflecting on the origins of the NIDHI initiative, Dr. Singh credited Prime Minister Modi’s vision for the Startup India Stand Up India Initiative, which led to the launch of NIDHI in 2016. The program addresses the gap between academic research and market-ready products, emphasizing early industry linkages for startups. He also noted the significant role of women entrepreneurs in driving the success of this initiative.

Dr. Singh highlighted the economic impact of the NIDHI program, which has created numerous jobs and fostered a culture of innovation. He emphasized that the celebration of eight years of NIDHI reflects the government's commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting financial inclusion.
