Bhopal- The Madhya Pradesh government has taken another significant step toward women's empowerment by increasing women's reservation in state government jobs from 33% to 35%.
The decision was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla following a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday.
The reservation increase will apply to Madhya Pradesh Civil Services recruitment and all other government jobs in the state. This move represents a major stride in the state's commitment to women's empowerment.
In other key decisions, the cabinet approved:
Establishment of 254 additional cash fertilizer distribution centers to support farmers during the ongoing Rabi crop sowing season. These centers will:
Allow farmers to purchase fertilizers through cash payments
Provide access to defaulter farmers
Help reduce long queues and ensure easier availability
Extension of the age limit for assistant professor appointments in medical colleges from 40 to 50 years. This 10-year increase aims to facilitate faculty recruitment for various medical colleges being established in the state.
Deputy CM Shukla also highlighted the success of the recent Regional Industry Summit in Rewa, which:
Attracted over 4,000 participants
Generated investment proposals worth more than ₹31,000 crore
Is expected to create 28,000 employment opportunities
