New Delhi- In his 111th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat', Prime Minister Narendra Modi reconnected with the nation after a brief hiatus, resuming his monthly radio address following the recent election results. Reflecting on the break, Modi expressed gratitude and joy for re-engaging with his "family members" across India.

Addressing the nation, Modi lauded the successful execution of the 2024 elections, which saw the participation of 65 crore voters, marking it as the largest democratic exercise globally. He extended congratulations to the Election Commission and all those involved in the voting process, emphasizing the significance of democratic faith and constitutional adherence among the citizens.

Highlighting the importance of June 30, Modi spoke about 'Hool Diwas', a day celebrated by tribal communities to honor the bravery of Veer Sidhu and Kanhu. These leaders led the Santhal community against British colonial forces in 1855, two years before India's first war of independence. Modi praised their indomitable courage and sacrifices, which continue to inspire the nation.

Modi introduced a heartfelt environmental initiative called 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', launched on World Environment Day. Encouraging citizens to plant trees in honor of their mothers, Modi shared his personal involvement in the campaign. The initiative aims to express gratitude towards mothers and simultaneously contribute to environmental conservation. Citizens have been actively participating, sharing their tree-planting activities on social media with hashtags like #Plant4Mother and #Ek_Ped_Maa_Ke_Naam.

The Prime Minister also spotlighted the unique 'Karthumbhi Umbrella' made by tribal women in Attappady, Kerala. These vibrant umbrellas are not only significant in Kerala's cultural rituals but also represent the artisan skills of the tribal community, blending tradition with modern utility.
