Lucknow- In a disturbing incident that contradicts Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's assertion of women's safety in Uttar Pradesh, miscreants committed a heinous act of gangrape involving the daughter of a senior administrative officer in the state capital, Lucknow. The incident occurred on December 5, challenging the narrative of UP being a safe place for women.

DCP West Rahul Raj provided details, stating that the rape survivor, who was undergoing treatment in the psychiatric department of KGMC Lucknow, filed a complaint with the police on December 10 due to mental distress. Promptly responding to the complaint, the police registered an FIR and apprehended three suspects. The authorities also recovered the vehicle used in the crime.

The survivor, daughter of a senior administrative officer, was receiving treatment at KGMC hospital in Lucknow. During her stay, she befriended Satyam Mishra, a tea vendor outside the hospital.

On December 5, the girl spent three hours talking with Satyam at his shop. As her mobile battery drained, she asked Satyam for a charging solution. In response, Satyam placed her phone in an ambulance for charging. When the survivor inquired about her mobile, she was told it was near Daliganj bridge. She accompanied Satyam in an e-rickshaw to retrieve it. Upon reaching Daliganj, they were informed that the ambulance was at IT intersection. They went to IT intersection, and from there, they traveled to Safedabad via Barabanki. The accused lured the girl into a WagonR car, where the crime took place.

The accused include a private ambulance operator and two individuals running a tea stall near the medical college. The police have recovered a video of the girl from the perpetrators.

This shocking incident raises serious concerns about the safety of women in Uttar Pradesh, despite the government's claims to the contrary. The swift action taken by the police underscores the urgency of addressing security issues and ensuring justice for the victim.
