Jaipur — Congress General Secretary Sachin Pilot criticized the BJP and took aim at key NDA leaders, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a Lok Swaraj Manch event in Jaipur on Monday.

Pilot remarked on the changing nature of time and political fortunes, saying, “Time never remains the same — there are good times and bad times.” He emphasized that leaders who connect with people through their work leave a lasting legacy, regardless of their position in power. He also emphasized that in a democracy, it is flawed to assume that power is permanent.

He then targeted the BJP’s declining political fortunes, referencing their reduced seat count from 400 to 240 in the Lok Sabha. He further questioned the stability of the NDA alliance, stating, “When will Chandrababu Naidu lose his mind, or when will Nitish Kumar turn his back… no one knows.”

Pilot stressed the importance of opposition unity, stating, “Lok Sabha elections are still four years away, but I believe that all opposition parties are uniting and standing together.”

The Congress leader also expressed concerns over the declining public participation in social movements and the misuse of institutions. He reflected on the legacy of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, emphasizing that a leader’s true worth is often recognized only after their time in office.

Pilot concluded by highlighting the unique and unpredictable nature of India’s democracy, stating that it offers different verdicts with each election cycle.
