Udaipur- Left parties and various civil society organizations organized a protest at Udaipur District Collectorate, demanding the filing of an FIR and the arrest of Udaipur BJP MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat.

At the public meeting, Premchand Pargi, District Secretary of the Adivasi Janadhikar Eka Manch, highlighted the severe challenges faced by tribal communities, including inadequate transportation leading to undignified practices, a lack of educational and medical facilities, and limited network connectivity. " People in tribal areas are forced to carry corpses through water and travel in unsafe conditions in jeeps due to poor transportation, schools lack teachers, and villages are deprived of medical facilities and network connectivity, but Mannalal Rawat is busy spreading communal hatred instead of addressing these issues."

He criticized MP Mannalal Rawat for focusing on spreading communal hatred instead of addressing these pressing issues, stating that it is Udaipur’s misfortune to have a representative who promotes violence rather than improving the lives of the people.

At the public meeting at the Collectorate, State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Comrade Shankarlal Chaudhary stated that Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat's communal rhetoric is unconstitutional. When an individual is elected as an MP, they swear to uphold the Constitution and act without discrimination. However, criticizing someone based on religious beliefs violates this oath. On one hand, the Prime Minister extols the virtues of the Constitution, but on the other, central ministers like Ravneet Bittu and Mannalal Rawat incite violence by threatening opponents and labeling them anti-Hindu. This is the dual nature of the BJP.

Roshanlal Meghwal, Senior Vice President of Bhim Army Unity Mission, remarked that since becoming an MP, Mannalal Rawat has been fueling conflicts between tribals and non-tribals, Hindus and Muslims. By spreading hatred against all opposition parties and organizations, he aims to incite communal riots in Udaipur. He should learn from senior parliamentarians like Sitaram Yechury.

Rajesh Singhvi, District Secretary of the CPI(M), declared that the Left parties, Udaipur Public Interest Front, Bhim Army, and other democratic organizations will continue their fight against the hate campaign led by MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat until the end. This battle will be long and difficult but not impossible. The INDIA alliance had warned about threats to the Constitution during the general elections, and that threat is now before us. They swear to protect the Constitution but work to destroy it.

The Left parties, Udaipur Janhit Morcha, and democratic organizations, through CPI(M) District Secretary Rajesh Singhvi, reiterated their demand for an FIR to be lodged against BJP MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat for his communal remarks about Sitaram Yechury and his family, and vowed to continue the struggle until legal action is taken.

Rani Mali, District Secretary of the All India Democratic Women’s Association, questioned why the administration hesitates to act if spreading hate and lies is a crime. If someone criticizes BJP leaders, the police waste no time in taking action. Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat himself posted on Facebook—no investigation is even needed. In the past 10 years, the BJP has fostered a climate of communal hatred, leading to the emergence of public representatives like Dr. Mannalal Rawat.

Educator and author Dr. Hemendra Chandalia remarked that it is unbecoming of a public representative to poison the harmonious legacy of Udaipur. Udaipur is renowned worldwide for its natural beauty, blended culture, and inclusivity. Being an educated individual, the MP should have researched Sitaram Yechury and his family on Google or referred to the speeches archived in Parliament. Yechury even donated his body for the service of humanity after death. Such comments from Udaipur's MP have brought shame to the people.

Following the assembly, a delegation led by CPI(M) District Secretary Rajesh Singhvi submitted a memorandum to the Additional Superintendent of Police, Gopal Singh Mewara, in the absence of the Superintendent of Police, urging action on the complaint filed on 17 September. The complaint was only registered as a report, not as an FIR, and Surajpol Police Station has yet to act. The delegation warned that the movement would continue until action is taken.

Mohammad Bakhsh, National President of the Muslim Federation, emphasized that first and foremost, we are all Indians, and that should guide the thoughts and actions of our MPs.

The protest concluded with slogans and a resolution to continue the fight against communal hatred.
