New debate sparked after Ajay Singh's statements during Bhind visit; internal differences create confusion within Congress!

Bhopal- A fresh controversy has erupted in Madhya Pradesh politics over the University Grants Commission (UGC) equity regulations. It began when senior Congress leader and former Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh recently visited Bhind and inaugurated the party's new district office. Speaking to journalists after the event, he sharply criticized the central government's policies, stating that the public is confused about UGC-related arrangements and that the government is making decisions without broad consultation.

Ajay Singh also alleged that such decisions could create new divides in society and that the government should have held extensive discussions on these sensitive issues. His remarks have once again brought the issue into the political spotlight.

Viral Video Escalates Controversy and Raises Questions on Party Line

Earlier, a video of Congress MLA Jayvardhan Singh went viral on social media, in which he is allegedly heard speaking to a group protesting UGC rules, saying he stands with them and that such decisions will not be tolerated.

After the video surfaced, political circles began questioning whether this reflects the Congress party's official stance or if these are individual statements. Many analysts believe the video has exposed a gap between the party's declared policy and its on-ground political behavior.

Social Justice Politics vs. Ground-Level Statements

The Congress has long positioned itself as a party championing social justice politics. At the national level, senior leaders like Leader of Opposition in Parliament Rahul Gandhi consistently speak about social justice, equal opportunities, and representation.

However, following Jayvardhan Singh's video and Ajay Singh's statements, opposition parties and social organizations have accused the Congress of a discrepancy between its words and actions. They argue that if the party truly supports social justice, it should maintain a clear and consistent position on laws related to education and representation.

Bahujan Organizations' Attack: “Politics of Double Standards”

Several Bahujan organizations and parties have responded openly to the controversy. Sunil Astey, a senior state leader of the Azad Samaj Party, accused the Congress of talking about Dalit, Adivasi, and backward communities during elections, but changing its stance on policy issues.

He stated that his party and the Bhim Army support the UGC rules, viewing them as linked to social justice. According to him, the Congress's opposition indicates that the party is engaging in opportunistic politics.

Bahujan Samaj Party state president Ramakant Pipple said the public is now beginning to understand the difference between political parties' statements and their actual policies. He argued that the Congress's claim to social justice is no longer credible, which is why the Bahujan community is seeking alternative political options.

Meanwhile, Gondwana Ganatantra Party national general secretary Aman Singh Porte told The Mooknayak that the Congress should clearly state whether it supports or opposes the UGC rules. He said an ambiguous stance creates confusion in society and weakens trust among Dalit-Adivasi communities.

Are Congress Leaders Deviating from the Party's Set Line?

Questions are now being raised within the Congress about internal discipline, as some leaders are repeatedly making statements that diverge from the central leadership's established political line. Critics argue that when leaders adopt positions publicly contrary to the party's official policy without facing disciplinary action, it weakens the organizational message and creates confusion among workers. According to political analysts, if such a situation persists for long, it could raise questions about the party's ideological uniformity and the leadership's control.
