New Delhi- Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has reaffirmed his confidence in the INDIA bloc's unity and future prospects, while acknowledging the need for internal dialogue within the opposition alliance. Speaking to IANS, Sibal emphasized that while the coalition remains strong at the national level, state-level politics operate differently, echoing recent comments by veteran leader Sharad Pawar.

Addressing recent criticism from Congress leader Tariq Anwar regarding party leadership and strategy, Sibal agreed that these concerns merit attention, though he suggested such discussions should have been initiated earlier, particularly when AAP was expanding its electoral presence across multiple states. However, Sibal maintained a diplomatic stance regarding West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's decision to contest elections independently, expressing confidence in the alliance leaders' ability to resolve such matters through mutual discussion.

These developments come at a critical juncture for the INDIA bloc, as it grapples with internal challenges and shifting allegiances. Notably, Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress has recently announced its intention to contest independently in Bengal, while also criticizing both AAP and Congress for their performance in the Delhi and Haryana assembly elections. The TMC leader has additionally ruled out any possibility of aligning with Congress in the 2026 West Bengal polls.
