BJP's Presidential Race Kicks Off With Membership Drive

PM, party leaders lead campaign to renew membership

New Delhi- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to appoint a new national president by the end of the year. According to reports, the process for selecting the new leader of the party will begin on August 1.

The tenure of party's National President, JP Nadda, has concluded. Although his term was extended until June 2024, he has now been assigned significant responsibilities within the government. Consequently, the BJP is in search of a new president.

The election process for the president of the BJP will start on August 1. The first step in the process will be to conduct a membership drive by the Prime Minister, the party president, and all the party leaders. This campaign will run till September 15.

From September 16 to September 30, an active membership campaign will be carried out. During this period, the verification of active membership will be done.

According to the BJP constitution, every member is required to renew their membership every nine years. This year, the membership campaign will also include the Prime Minister, the party president, and all the party leaders.

The elections for the Mandal (local unit) presidents will be held on November 1. This will be followed by the elections for the district presidents from November 16 to November 30. Once the elections for 50 percent of the states are complete, the process of selecting the national president will start.

The selection of the new leader of the party will be a crucial step for the BJP in the midst of all major political upheaval and uncertainty.
