Bhopal. The controversy over objectionable remarks against a towering figure like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, who laid the foundations of education, social justice, and equality, continues to escalate. In protest against derogatory posts by self-proclaimed 'saint' Anand Swaroop and another social media user Neha Sharma, the OBC Mahasabha submitted a memorandum to the Lahar police station on Monday, demanding immediate registration of an FIR.

On November 28, the death anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, tribute programs were organized across the country. During this time, Anand Swaroop made insulting comments from his Facebook ID, labeling Phule as a 'Hindu religion traitor' and 'exiled.' Not stopping there, he posted "Jyotiba Phule Murdabad," wounding the honor of the social reformer.

In their complaint letter, the OBC Mahasabha stated that Anand Swaroop has been disrupting social harmony for several months through indecent language and provocative posts on social media. In the same vein, derogatory remarks against Phule were made on November 28 from the Facebook ID 'Brahmin Neha Sharma,' sparking massive anger among the Bahujan society and Phule's followers.

OBC Mahasabha's Executive President Rupesh Yadav told The Mooknayak in an interview that Phule was not just a pioneer for the OBC society but for the entire Indian society in terms of equality and education. Such language against him is unacceptable in any form and amounts to an attempt to erode social harmony.

In their memorandum, the OBC Mahasabha clearly stated that the Facebook IDs of both Anand Swaroop and Neha Sharma should be immediately investigated, and criminal cases should be registered against them. Their comments not only hurt Mahatma Phule's honor but also seek to spread unnecessary tension and enmity in society. The organization emphasized that those who disrupt the social fabric should not be spared under any circumstances, so that no one dares to make indecent remarks against great saints and social reformers in the future. The Mahasabha warned that if the police do not act in time, the Bahujan society will be forced to launch a movement, and the full responsibility for this will lie with the administration.

OBC Mahasabha officials and social workers arrived in large numbers at the Lahar police station in Bhind to submit the memorandum. All of them registered their protest against the protection of Mahatma Phule's honor and statements spreading hatred in society.

The OBC Mahasabha stated that the remark against Mahatma Phule is not just a social media post but an attack on the history, struggles, and self-respect of the Bahujan society. In such times, administrative inaction could fuel discontent in society.

Bahujan society leaders said that Mahatma Phule showed the path of education to Dalit-deprived communities, fought for women's rights, and raised his voice against social evils. Indecent remarks against him cannot be tolerated from any perspective. The activists present at the police station said, "This is not an insult to just one person but to our entire society. The administration must take immediate action."
