Jaipur- – A civil court in Ajmer has accepted a petition claiming the existence of a Sankat Mochan Mahadev temple at the site of the revered Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti's dargah, sparking debate and concern. The court will hold its next hearing on December 20.

Rajasthan's Education Minister, Madan Dilawar, commenting on the development, stated that based on historical precedent, it is possible that temples were demolished to construct mosques in India. He added that the court's decision on the Ajmer dargah would be final, and if excavations were ordered, there is a high likelihood of discovering temple remains.

The petition was filed by Vishnu Gupta, national president of the Hindu Sena, and alleges the dargah stands on the site of the ancient temple. The court has issued notices to all parties involved.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, expressing concern over the court's decision, highlighted similar recent surveys ordered for the Gyanvapi Mosque and Babri Masjid. He views these actions as part of a larger pattern targeting religious sites, particularly those significant to Muslims, and voiced growing concerns among Muslims about a potential conspiracy to undermine their faith.
