Hyderabad- Tollywood actor Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda Central Jail on Saturday morning after spending a night in custody. The release follows a stampede at a theatre during the premier show of his film 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', which resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to her son.

Arjun was granted interim bail for four weeks by the Telangana High Court on Friday evening, just an hour after a lower court had ordered him to 14 days of judicial custody. However, due to delays in receiving the bail order, the actor was held overnight. Jail authorities explained that prisoners cannot be released during night hours as per prison regulations.

The actor was released from the rear gate of the jail and escorted to the office of Geeta Arts. He'll arrive at his home in Jubilee Hills later. Police have heightened security measures around his residence. Many fans waited outside the jail until late at night for his release.

Allu Arjun's lawyers gave the Jail Superintendent a personal bond of Rs 50,000, as the High Court directed. The court ordered the police to continue their investigation and instructed the actor to cooperate.

The stampede occurred at Sandhya Theatre on December 4 during the premier show of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', which Arjun attended. Following the incident, police registered a case against the actor, his security team, and the theatre management under Sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt), and 3(5) BNS.

The High Court's interim bail decision comes amidst a day of dramatic developments that began with Arjun's arrest from his residence on Friday morning. The court's decision to grant bail was made during a hearing on Arjun's quash petition against the lower court's ruling. The court also granted interim bail to three members of the theatre management.

The Public Prosecutor opposed the interim bail plea, and the court adjourned the hearing to December 21.
