TIME Recognizes Vaishnaw's Role in India's AI Emergence

Minister's leadership aims to position India as a top 5 semiconductor player

New Delhi- According to a report by TIME magazine, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, has been named as one of the most influential people in technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

The magazine said, under Vaishnaw's leadership, India is hopeful to become one of the top five countries in the semiconductor manufacturing sector in the next five years. Several factories have already begun construction for the most important component of modern AI systems.

It was also highlighted by the magazine that the Indian educational system is getting ready to produce the specialised workforce required for cutting-edge AI and semiconductor development.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that Vaishnaw's inclusion in the list has emphasised his role in spearheading India's emergence as a significant player in the AI landscape.

The list also includes some other prominent figures like Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani for their contributions to AI and technology.
