Second Buddha: International Conference on Guru Padmasambhava's Legacy Begins on Aug 28

Two-day event to celebrate life and teachings of revered Buddhist figure

New Delhi- A two-day International Conference on the Life and Living Legacy of Guru Padmasambhava will be held in Nalanda, Bihar from 28th August to 29th August 2024. The conference will be organized by the International Buddhist Confederation in collaboration with the Nava Nalanda Mahavihara.

The conference will pay homage to the life and legacy of Guru Padmasambhava, one of the most revered figures of Buddha Dhamma today. He is widely regarded as the second Buddha, also called Guru Rinpoche. He lived in the eighth century in ancient India and is credited with the dissemination of Buddhist Dhamma across the Himalayan region.

The key themes of the conference will include a detailed account of his life and teachings, his travels across the Himalayas, and his relevance in the present time. The conference will also focus on showcasing the cultural and artistic contributions of Guru Padmasambhava. The conference will celebrate Guru Padmasambhava's Dhamma legacy through manuscripts, relics, paintings, and monuments.

While striving to spread the core tenets of Buddha Dhamma, Guru Padmasambhava understood the particularities of a place and sensibilities of the people. The conference aims to provide an opportunity for attendees to gain insights into the diverse cultures and religious traditions of the region. The event will also foster a sense of spirituality and service among the participants.
