New Delhi-During a special briefing issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday, it was emphasized that the defense collaboration between India and Vietnam is a vital part of the two nations' friendship. This is particularly true since Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam recently visited India for three days.

The MEA Secretary emphasized that both the leaders of the two countries recognize the importance of industry cooperation in the defense sector. This is because the defense industry cooperation has recently emerged as a significant area of cooperation between the two nations. The Secretary also informed that a framework for future collaborations has been created by signing an implementation arrangement for defense industry cooperation. The implementation arrangement aims to facilitate technology transfers in defense production, which is of particular interest to the Vietnamese side. The Secretary of the MEA also expressed India's commitment to providing defense supplies to Vietnam based on their specific requirements.

MEA Secretary Jaideep Mazumdar emphasized the importance of defense collaboration between India and Vietnam as a key pillar of their friendship. The two leaders of the countries recently signed several Memorandums of Understanding aimed at strengthening their bilateral ties. The signing of these documents will further strengthen the defense cooperation between the two nations.
