Darbhanga- Union Health Minister JP Nadda inaugurated two super specialty government hospitals in Bihar, located in Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur. These hospitals, built at a cost of 350 crore rupees each, have 210 beds and are part of efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure in the state.

During the inauguration ceremony in Darbhanga, Nadda highlighted the significant advancements in healthcare under the NDA government, noting the 88 percent increase in undergraduate medical seats. He also pointed out that the number of medical colleges has grown from 287 to 731 nationwide, with the Centre supporting 157 new medical colleges at the district level.

Nadda praised Bihar's progress towards becoming a medical hub, crediting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's leadership and vision. He noted that Bihar now has 35 medical colleges, with new institutions being established in districts such as Siwan, Samastipur, Purnea, and Saran.

Concluding his two-day visit to Bihar, Nadda reviewed the ongoing construction at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), which is set to become the world's second-largest government hospital. He also visited the AIIMS Darbhanga site at Shobhan-Ekmi bypass and urged officials to expedite the construction work.
