New Delhi- The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) has launched its first Advanced Leadership Development Program on Public Policy and Governance for Latin American and Caribbean countries. This two-week program, running from September 2 to September 13, 2024, includes 22 civil servants from 10 nations, such as Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Paraguay, Peru, St. Kitts & Nevis, and Suriname.

During the program, Secretary DARPG and DG NCGG, V. Srinivas, engaged with the participants, discussing governance similarities between India and the Latin American region.

The focus of India's governance model during the Amrit Kaal period is on the "Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal," which emphasizes development, removing traces of colonial influence, pride in roots, unity, and a sense of duty among citizens. India aims to achieve next-generation infrastructure, world-class manufacturing, cutting-edge innovation, and new-age technology while prioritizing the empowerment of citizens and reaching the last mile.

The program covers a broad range of topics, including Aadhar as a governance tool, Skill India, Vigilance Administration, India's economic policies, approaches to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), digital economy, urban governance, food security, healthcare, and disaster management. Participants will also visit institutions such as the Forest Research Institute, the International Solar Alliance, and the Taj Mahal.

The program is being managed by a team led by Dr. Himanshi Rastogi, along with other key coordinators and professionals from NCGG.
