Heavy Rains Predicted in Central and Western India

IMD forecasts extremely heavy rainfall in West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan

New Delhi- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy rainfall in West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan today. The IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall in the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, and Goa.

According to the IMD, a low-pressure area formed over southwest Rajasthan and its neighboring is responsible for bringing this heavy rainfall.

The IMD further said that isolated heavy rainfall conditions are also likely in Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and North-East India till the 10th of this month. According to the weather agency, very heavy rainfall conditions will be prevailed over Coastal Karnataka today and heavy rainfall conditions over Kerala, Mahe, and Tamil Nadu till tomorrow.

It is being predicted that light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over most of the country during the week.
