Deep Depression over Arabian Sea to Move Away from India

Weather system expected to shift west-northwest over Northeast Arabian Sea within 24 hours

New Delhi- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the deep depression over the Arabian Sea, which is causing heavy rains in Gujarat, is likely to move west-northwest over the Northeast Arabian Sea and get away from the Indian Coast in the next 24 hours.

The IMD said that heavy rainfall has occurred in the areas of Kachchh in Gujarat in the last 24 hours.

At the same time, the IMD has forecasted very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Coastal Karnataka over the next 7 days. According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is also expected in Central India, Kerala, Mahe district of the Puducherry, Coastal Karnataka, and Central Maharashtra over the next seven days.

The IMD said that light to moderate rainfall is expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andaman, Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and East Rajasthan over the next seven days.
