Aligarh- In Aligarh, more than a dozen girl students from Government High School Raitpur, Iglas, have penned a letter to the District Collector, highlighting the deplorable condition of their school. In this letter, the students not only describe the lack of basic amenities in their school but also appeal for an impartial investigation into the management of the school by officials.

According to the students, the school has just a table and chair for seating, while the neighbouring schools enjoy better facilities. They emphasize that with essential amenities, they could have improved academic performance.

The Mooknayak attempted to contact the District Magistrate Aligarh and the Basic Education Officer for their response, but as of the news writing, no clear responses were received from the authorities.

Two letters written by the girl students from Government High School Raitpur have gone viral on social media, where they express concerns about the state of their school. Addressed to the Collector, the students state, "Despite being open for almost 10-12 years, our school in Iglas (Aligarh) still lacks basic facilities. While the government allocates a substantial budget to schools for quality education, this school has seen no improvements. There is a glaring absence of infrastructure, including essential items like blackboards, in comparison to Government High School, Jawar."

The letter continues with the students questioning whether schools in the same district receive varying budgets from the government annually. They raise suspicions about embezzlement of the entire budget, pointing out the lack of facilities such as a library, sports kit, RO (water purifier), electricity, blackboards, laboratories, computers, and newspapers. The letter further criticizes the insufficient teaching staff, with only four masters, including the Principal, who rarely attends and fails to contribute to science education.

The students reveal that the principal shows up for a mere two hours once a week to the school, offering no teaching during this time. Additionally, they highlight the absence of cleanliness and clean drinking water, forcing them to seek water from a nearby junior school due to sand contamination in the hand pump.

Expressing concerns about the school's poor condition affecting admissions, the students recall a previous letter sent to the Principal an year ago, requesting a sports kit, which remains unfulfilled. They express frustration that neither the master nor the principal provides satisfactory answers to their queries.

In their plea to the District Magistrate, the girl students call for an investigation into the school's budget to determine its proper utilization. They demand accountability from the principal and seek appropriate action based on the findings.
