Lucknow- In Lucknow University, a fresh wave of controversy has ignited over the ongoing recruitment of professors from Dalit and backward castes, prompting Union Minister and Member of Parliament Kaushal Kishore's MLA wife, Jai Devi, to address the issue.

In a letter to the Vice Chancellor, she has urged the immediate formation of a committee for the recruitment on backlog vacant posts, emphasizing the need for a fair and transparent process.

The recruitment notice issued by Lucknow University outlines the hiring for numerous positions within the institute, with the application process currently underway. Aspiring candidates had to submit their applications through the official website lkouniv.ac.in, by December 7. The notification specifies a total of 128 posts to be filled, including 84 for Assistant Professor, 29 for Associate Professor, 13 for Professor, and 2 for Director. The campaign aims to address the vacant faculty positions across various subjects.

To apply for the recruitment, candidates were required to check and fulfill the eligibility criteria, encompassing educational qualifications and age limits, as detailed on the official site. Additionally, an application fee was applicable, with General/OBC/EWS candidates expected to pay Rs 1500, and SC/ST candidates having a reduced fee of Rs 1200.

The controversy has further escalated with the All India Backward Classes Federation expressing concerns about the alleged non-adherence to reservation policies in the recruitment process for the past four years. The federation has formally communicated these issues to the Governor, Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Ajay Singh Bisht (Yogi Adityanath), SC-ST Commission, and Backward Commission.

In response to these developments, MLA Jai Devi has intervened by addressing the Vice Chancellor directly, urging corrective measures to ensure fair representation and adherence to reservation policies in the ongoing recruitment drive. .
