Udaipur, Rajasthan- Tensions ran high at Udaipur's Mohanlal Sukhadia University on Tuesday as students erupted in protest over an alleged indecent comment sent by the Vice-Chancellor to a female student hailing from the tribal community.

The situation unfolded when members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and student leaders from the nearby Government Meera College gathered at the university's administrative building around noon to voice their concerns over various pending issues.

The controversy began when a student, frustrated with what she perceived as unjust results, sent a text message to Prof Sunita Mishra, the Vice-Chancellor's mobile number. The message, which read, "Dalali band karo, results ko sahi karo" (Stop commissioning, fix the results), was intended as a call for fairness. However, the student's message was allegedly met with an unexpected and abusive one-word reply 'Ha*%$#**di' from the Vice-Chancellor's number.

As news of the exchange spread, anger among the student body grew. The protesters, incensed by the Vice-Chancellor's response, began raising slogans and eventually burned an effigy of the university official as a sign of their outrage.

The student who had sent the original message expressed her shock and disappointment, stating, "I was merely asking for the rectification of the results. I never expected that someone in such a high position at the university would respond in such an offensive manner."

Kiran Vaishnav, the President of Meera College, condemned the Vice-Chancellor's alleged response, stating, "Using abusive language is absolutely unacceptable. This is not just an insult to one student but to all female students at the university. We will be filing a formal complaint against the Vice-Chancellor."

In an attempt to clarify the situation, The Mooknayak reached out to Vice-Chancellor Sunita Mishra for a statement on the same number. Mishra, responded to the text message and stated that she is in Jaipur for a meeting at the Governor's office and would return by late evening. denied any involvement, claiming that her phone had been switched off and that she had not sent any messages. "I didn't message anyone," she asserted in her response. " I am very student friendly, but I never message any type of wrong words to anyone" she further added.
