Udaipur— While the concept of purchasing land on the moon has primarily piqued the interest of celebrities and the wealthy, a heartwarming story from Udaipur city in Rajasthan, is rewriting the narrative. Meethalal Meghwal, a father with physical challenges, has defied societal norms by purchasing an acre of lunar land as a gift for his daughters, Mitali and Manasi. His remarkable gesture challenges the exclusivity of moon land ownership, making headlines and inspiring many.

Traditionally, the idea of acquiring lunar real estate has been associated with high-profile individuals and celebrities. However, Meethalal's act of love and determination has brought a new perspective to this trend, emphasizing that dreams of owning a piece of the moon are not limited to the privileged few.

The inspiration for this unique gift came after the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3, sparking people's interest in lunar real estate. Meethalal and his daughters watched the Chandrayaan landing on television, during which the girls expressed their dream of one day going to the moon and living there.

In response to their dreams, Meethalal, who is a construction contractor by profession, encouraged his daughters to aim high and become scientists or astronauts if they wished to explore space or the moon. Witnessing their excitement, he decided to take a novel step by purchasing land on the moon, a concept he had heard about previously.

Speaking to The Mooknayak, Meethalal shared, "It is a gift for my two daughters. We were watching the Chandrayan-3 landing on TV, and my twin daughters Mitali and Manasi asked me whether we can go to the moon and settle there. I said, 'Why not? If you study hard, you can become scientists and astronauts and go to space or the moon.' Seeing their excitement, I thought of purchasing land on the moon, which I had heard about. I went to the related website and made an online purchase." Meethalal said," I made the payment through my credit card, the money was deducted in US dollars, I dont know how much it cost. But it is not about money, I am happy that i could fulfil my daughters' desire".

One acre in the Sea of Tranquility

Meethalal enthusiastically shared that while the hard copy of the purchase would take approximately 45 days to arrive, the authorities had promptly sent him a receipt and a soft copy to confirm the acquisition. When questioned about the practicality of his purchase, given the considerable challenges of lunar expeditions, Meethalal responded with unwavering optimism.

He remarked, "Our generation has witnessed incredible advancements in space exploration, including people setting foot on the moon. Who's to say what the future holds? Perhaps, in the coming years, humanity will achieve the remarkable feat of establishing a sustainable presence on the moon." With a hopeful glint in his eye, Meethalal's words resonated with a spirit of adventure and the belief that dreams can become reality through determination and innovation.

Meethalal's mother worked as labourer to raise her kids after her husband's demise at a young age.

Mother's Sacrifices and Triumphs in Raising Her Children

Meethalal opened up about the challenges he encountered during his upbringing, stating, "I lost my father when I was just 3 years old. My mother, Hagami Bai, bore the weight of numerous struggles and hardships to raise us. Those were tough times, and I had to take up labour jobs to make ends meet."

Despite the odds stacked against him, Meethalal's determination shone through. He continued his education, pursuing his dreams relentlessly. He recalled, "I managed to study only up to the 7th standard initially, but completed my 10th education through an open school program. It was not an easy journey, but it was a necessary one."

Adding to his challenges, Meethalal had been affected by polio during his childhood, which posed additional physical challenges. However, his unwavering spirit and belief in the power of education never wavered. He worked as labourer for many years and gradually started taking petty construction contracts after gaining experiences from his hard work.

He explained, "My experiences have taught me the value of education and the importance of dreams. I want my children to have every opportunity in life, to receive a full education, and to pursue any course or career they desire."

Moon Land Shopping: Celestial Purchase

For those intrigued by the idea of owning land on the moon, websites like https://lunarregistry.com and https://lunarland.com offer opportunities to make these unconventional purchases. The moon's various regions are often given names like the "Bay of Rainbow," "Lake of Dream," "Sea of Vapors," and "Sea of Clouds," and prospective lunar landowners can select their preferred area for a fee, typically paid in U.S. dollars.

However, it's essential to note that the land on the moon cannot be claimed or owned in any legal sense. In 1967, 104 countries, including India, signed an agreement that stipulates the moon, stars, and other celestial bodies are not the property of any single nation, and no one can claim ownership over them. Sushant Singh Rajput, was reportedly the first actor to purchase land on the moon. Additionally, a fan gifted a piece of lunar real estate to Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan.

Mitali and Manasi Urge Government Support

In a heartwarming conversation with The Mooknayak, Meethalal's daughters, Mitali and Manasi, radiated joy and gratitude for their unique and cherished possession. Mitali expressed their amazement, saying, "We never thought our father would give us this precious gift. Our friends and teachers congratulated us, and they are awestruck that we own this moonland."

Their aspirations are as bright as the moon they now partially own. Mitali shared her ambition, inspired by the Chandrayaan landing, "I aim to become a scientist." Meanwhile, Manasi has her sights set on becoming an IAS officer, both dreams fuelled by the boundless support of their father and their own determination.

Their admiration for their father's efforts shines through, as they noted, "Our father is differently abled, but he works tirelessly to provide us with the best possible education. We are determined to reach great heights in our chosen fields."

In a heartfelt plea, they added, "We implore the government to provide assistance to our community so that many daughters like us can achieve our dreams and live lives filled with recognition and dignity."
