Dr. Vikram Harijan of Allahabad University Faces FIR for Controversial Remarks On Hindu Gods

An FIR has been registered against Vikram Harijan, an assistant professor at Allahabad University, over a post he made regarding Lord Ram and Krishna. This action was taken by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Jagran Manch, and Bajrang Dal. The question arises: Why did the professor talk about sending Ram and Krishna to jail?

Prayagraj—  Dr. Vikram Harijan, an assistant professor at Allahabad University, is facing legal action for making objectionable remarks about Lord Ram and Krishna. A complaint was jointly filed against him by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Jagran Manch, and Bajrang Dal. The local police confirmed that an FIR has been registered at the Colonelganj police station in Prayagraj, following the complaint by VHP district coordinator Shubham.

It is worth noting that Dr. Vikram Harijan hails from the Dalit community and has endured the hardships of the caste system since his childhood. He has been a vocal critic of caste discrimination and untouchability, addressing these issues through his articles on several occasions.

Dr. Vikram is an assistant professor in the Department of Medieval and Modern History at Allahabad University. In his post on a social media platform (X), he discussed the notion of putting Lord Ram and Krishna in jail. He wrote, " If Lord Shri Ram were alive today, I would have sent him to jail under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code for killing Rishi Shambhuk, and if Krishna were alive today, I would have sent him to jail for the case of sexual harassment of women."
