Government Creates 1 Crore Lakhpati Didis

Distributes certificates to 11 lakh successful women entrepreneurs

New Delhi- The prime minister is set to visit Jalgaon on Sunday (August 25). During this visit, he will distribute certificates to 11 lakh lakhpatis. He will also meet with Lakhpati Didis who earn more than Rs 1 lakh annually.

According to the Rural Development Ministry, 1 crore Lakhpati Didis have been created by the government so far. This has not only helped in pulling their families out of poverty, but they are also becoming role models for the rest of the society. The Ministry has set a target of creating 3 crore Lakhpati Didis in the next three years.

To reach this target, the government will create a revolving fund of Rs 2500 crore and a bank loan of Rs 5000 crore. Under this, 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh Self Help Groups (SHGs) will be affected. The revolving fund will benefit 48 lakh members of 4.3 lakh Self Help Groups (SHGs), while the bank loan will benefit 25.8 lakh members of 2,35,400 Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The government has already created 1 crore Lakhpati Didis.
