Bhopal – A shocking case has emerged from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. In the Hinouta Kothar village of the Manpur police station area, an attempt was made to bury two women alive. A disturbing video has surfaced showing women being buried under murram (crushed stones). The women were protesting against road construction. Angered by their opposition, the perpetrators attempted to bury them alive, and the video has gone viral. Following the video's circulation, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has instructed officials to take immediate action.

The video clearly shows people removing murram from over the women, with one woman buried up to her waist. It is alleged that the accused attempted to kill the women over a road dispute. According to reports, one woman was buried up to her neck and another up to her waist.

Victims Asha Pandey and Mamta Pandey told a local newspaper, "We were alone at home. The accused learned about this and arrived with a truckload of murram on our land. We told them that we were alone and suggested that we could discuss it when everyone else arrived. But they threatened us, saying they would build the road immediately and bury us both in the process."

Mamta Pandey’s husband, Jivesh Pandey, said, "The women of our house were saved from dying. I am from village Hinouta Kothar. The accused were forcibly dumping murram on our land, which the women opposed."

Jivesh added, "Rajesh Singh arrived on the spot with a truck and JCB, along with Gokarn Prasad Pandey, Vipin Pandey, and Mahendra Pandey. They pushed both women and then dumped murram on them. Villagers promptly rescued them."

Jivesh also mentioned, "The land dispute has been ongoing since 2002. The land is in my father's name, and the court has ruled in our favor twice. Now, there is an appeal in the High Court, and we are awaiting the decision. The land title is still in our name."

Madhya Pradesh PCC Chief Jitu Patwari wrote on X, "This incident once again raises serious questions about the safety of women under the BJP government. Madhya Pradesh is already at the top in crimes against women.

Chief Minister, can these sisters expect your government to conduct a fair and prompt investigation into this incident? Your government has repeatedly failed to prevent crimes against women."

Former Union Minister Arun Yadav wrote, "When women protested against road construction on their land, goons attempted to bury them alive under murram. Under the BJP government, criminals have the upper hand, and Dalits, tribals, and women are continuously being oppressed."

Collector Pratibha Pal stated that there was a dispute between the parties over road construction. One party attempted to create the road and brought murram in a truck. When the women protested, the driver quickly dumped the murram on them. Villagers intervened and rescued the women.

The Collector added that the women were examined at a medical college and were discharged after treatment. A case has been filed against the accused, and the truck involved in the incident has been seized.
