New Delhi- The United States has reiterated its commitment to fostering strong and positive relations with India, Brazil, and South Africa. During a media briefing on Tuesday, U.S. Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel highlighted the nation’s ongoing collaboration with these countries in key areas, as well as the focus on responsibly managing its competitive relationship with China.

Responding to questions about the recent BRICS Summit, Patel underscored the importance of each country’s sovereign right to choose their alliances, while emphasizing that the U.S. aims to build deep coalitions globally to achieve shared goals. He also stressed the U.S. objective of enhancing partnerships through strategic investments and multilateral platforms such as the UN, G20, APEC, and ASEAN.

Regarding U.S.-China relations, Patel reaffirmed that the goal is to responsibly manage competition between the two superpowers. On the issue of Russia, Patel reiterated the U.S. stance against Russian aggression in Ukraine and urged countries worldwide to halt "business as usual" with the Russian Federation.

The 16th BRICS Summit, held under Russia’s chairmanship in Kazan, focused on "Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security" and saw the participation of newly added members, including Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
