Pakistani Troops Fire on Indian Posts in Kashmir

BSF retaliates, no immediate reports of casualties on Pakistani side

New Delhi- A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was injured after Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian posts in Jammu and Kashmir during the early hours of Tuesday, September 11.

According to a report by Akashvani, the BSF troops responded by retaliating fire. However, the casualties on the Pakistani side have not been known immediately.

The BSF spokesperson said that the unprovoked firing incident occurred from across the border in the Akhnoor sector at around 2:35 am, which was followed by a response from the BSF.

The spokesperson further stated that the troops are keeping a strict vigil along the international border and line of control, and they are fully alert. The ceasefire violation between India and Pakistan has been very rare since both countries renewed the ceasefire agreement on February 25, 2021.
