India Mobile Congress 2024 Unveils Theme ‘The Future is Now’ with Launch of App and Website

Scindia commended the telecom sector’s transformative progress over the past decade, highlighting India's shift from being a technology consumer to a technology provider.

New Delhi- Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, unveiled the theme for India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024, "The Future is Now," during an event held on Thursday. The theme emphasizes India's pivotal role in technological evolution and IMC 2024’s mission to unite global leaders, visionaries, pioneers, and innovators to shape the transformative technologies of today.

In addition to announcing the theme, Minister Scindia launched the IMC 2024 application and website, designed as an interactive platform for event registration. The launch event featured the first registration and keynote address by Scindia, marking the official opening of delegate, visitor, academia/college, government, and media registrations.

In his keynote address, Scindia highlighted the role of technology in unifying diverse regions of India, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. He stated, “Technology is best when it brings people together. There can be no better example than our country Bharat.” Scindia emphasized that technology and communications would create opportunities and connect people from remote villages to central urban centers.

The Minister described IMC as a global melting pot and expressed hopes for India to remain at the forefront of such significant events. He noted that the theme ‘The Future is Now’ reflects India’s capabilities, achievements, and future potential. Scindia commended the telecom sector’s transformative progress over the past decade, highlighting India's shift from being a technology consumer to a technology provider. He acknowledged key telecom initiatives, including The Telecom Act 2023, the PLI Scheme, and the rapid rollout of 5G, and assured that the rules of The Telecom Act 2023 will be notified within the next 180 days.
