Floods Threaten Thousands in Assam

State Government Takes Action to Provide Rescue and Relief

Several major rivers in Assam are currently at danger of overflowing, threatening the lives of thousands of people.

The state government has taken various measures to provide rescue and relief to those affected.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Governor Gulab Chand Kataria have visited the flood-affected areas and met with the people. They have instructed the concerned officials to provide all possible help to those affected.

The state government has arranged for the district administrations to provide food, drinking water, and medical assistance to those in need.

A major portion of the Kaziranga National Park has been submerged, and the park authority has taken steps to prevent the poaching of wildlife. So far, 82 wild animals have been rescued by the park authority.

The state government is also committed to providing other necessary assistance to the people of flood-affected areas.
