Ayodhya- The city set two Guinness World Records on Wednesday during its grand Deepotsav 2024 celebration, illuminating the banks of the Saryu River with over 2.5 million diyas, the highest number of oil lamps ever displayed. Another record was set as crowds participated in a coordinated diya rotation, making this a landmark event.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, accepted the Guinness certificates amidst a night of spectacular celebrations. The evening featured mesmerizing laser and light shows, a sound-and-light Ram Leela, and a colorful drone show that captivated thousands of attendees.

This Deepotsav holds special importance as it is the first since the consecration ceremony of Ram Lala at the Ayodhya temple. The five-day festival, celebrating Lord Ram's return from exile, included a chariot procession led by CM Yogi, symbolizing the deity’s homecoming, and eighteen elaborate tableaux depicting scenes from Ram’s life.

CM Yogi spoke about Ayodhya as a symbol of Sanatan Dharma's resurgence, highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s progress under the "double-engine" government. He also introduced a tourism app and unveiled a book by Ayodhya’s Mayor, further marking the city’s transformation into a beacon of faith and culture.
