New Delhi- Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav on Thursday emphasised the importance of maintaining a balance between scientific progress and nature in connection with the new sapling plantation initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Asola-Bhati Wildlife Sanctuary in New Delhi.

While participating in the tree plantation drive, the minister said that it is very important to create a deep ecological sense that calls for deep organic relations between nature and people.

He also referred to the environment-friendly lifestyle mentioned by the Prime Minister at the Glasgow Conference regarding the adoption of LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) as an important step to address climate change collectively.

The Prime Minister launched the sapling plantation campaign on World Environment Day on June 5. The campaign aims to increase the green cover, promote a green economy, and adopt a sustainable lifestyle to combat climate change challenges.

Yadav was at Dehradun a day before to take stock of the incidents of forest fires in Uttarakhand. He said, the government remains committed to finding solutions to the various reasons which are causing the fires, leading to loss of valuable forests.
