Udaipur- In a massive demonstration at the Collectorate in Udaipur, members of the tribal community expressed their discontent on Monday regarding the lack of action following the murder of a minor from Gumanpura in Vallabhnagar, which happened some two and a half months ago.

Organized under the banner of Bhil Pradesh Mukti Morcha, tribal organization members gathered at the town hall and proceeded to the Collectorate, raising slogans and demanding justice.

The protesters handed over a memorandum highlighting the murder of 13-year-old Devendra Bhil and the subsequent lack of progress in apprehending the perpetrator. Despite the case being registered, the accused remains at large.

The tribal community representatives called for the immediate arrest of the culprit, along with a government job and compensation for a family member of the deceased.

The demonstration saw the participation of prominent figures, including Sukh Sampat Bagri, Babulal Ghavri, Advocate PR Salvi, Jitendra Katara Salumber, Amit Kharadi Udaipur Rural, Dinesh Pandor Jhadol, Chunnilal Gameti, Harilal Bhil Mohanlal, and hundreds of others.

Additionally, Dr. Memorial Welfare Society submitted a memorandum addressing the removal of a Baba Saheb flag at Dr. Ambedkar Circle on January 27, urging authorities to take appropriate action.

Youth Express Anger over Police Inaction

Jitesh Kumar Katara, former assembly candidate of Bharat Adivasi Party, voiced concerns over the unresolved case of minor Devendra Bhil's body found in a well within the Bhinder police station area three months ago. Despite filing a named report against the suspected murderer, the family faced repeated visits to the police stations without receiving satisfactory assurances. The accused remains at large even after being named in the brutal murder, prompting a collective protest by the youth at the Collectorate. Jitesh alleged that political support is hindering the police from taking necessary actions.

Under the banner of Bhil Pradesh Mukti Morcha, various organizations united for the cause. Jitesh Katara issued a warning, stating that higher officials have promised action within 10 to 15 days. If no progress is made, the police station related to the case will be encircled, and the responsibility will fall entirely on the police. A memorandum has been submitted, Katara questioned the police's inaction in a named FIR and raised concerns about their approach to reports of unidentified bodies.

In another incident involving the brutal murder of a 40-year-old tribal youth, Bholiram Bhil, by assailants in Varni village under the Ghasa police station area in Udaipur district, also has sparked widespread anger and condemnation. The relentless wave of terror against the tribal community under the BJP rule raises serious concerns. Demands are being made for the government to ensure strict punishment for the perpetrators involved in the heinous crime. Activists claimed, " It is strange that three named accused in the Ghasa murder case are beyond police reach while this is the same Udaipur where the accused in Kanhaiyalal murder case were swiftly apprehended by the cops. Yet, today, those perpetrators responsible for the murder of a tribal brother remain at large, a distressing situation for society."

Community men asserted that the failure to apprehend the criminals involved in the tragic killing of a tribal youth raises poignant concerns and casts a somber light on the administration's efficacy.

A day-long trending hashtag, "Udaipur Police Sharam Karo," flooded social media as activists and members of the tribal community voiced their outrage against the Udaipur police. The relentless criticism stems from the perceived lackadaisical approach of the police department, allowing the culprits behind the crime to roam freely without facing consequences. The hashtag gained significant traction, reflecting the growing frustration and disappointment with the perceived inaction of the local law enforcement
