Lok Sabha Elections Result 2024: Rajkumar Roat's Lead Reduces BJP Bigshot Malaviya's Stature in the Tribal Belt of South Rajasthan

A BAP victory would be historic, as Narendra Modi himself campaigned for the BJP, while no major leader campaigned for BAP.

Udaipur- Rajkumar Roat of the Bharat Adivasi Party has been leading the vote count for the Lok Sabha seat from the start, currently ahead by more than 1 lakh votes.

The intense campaign of the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) in Banswara had left both major political parties scorched. The Congress had already conceded ground to BAP, while the BJP attempted a strategic move by having Malaviya switch sides, relying on tribal social engineering for a win. However, this strategy now appears to be failing.

This situation has caused significant upheaval for heavyweight leader Mahendrajeet Singh Malaviya, who recently switched from Congress to BJP, as his political standing seems to be eroding.

Congress candidate Arvind Sita Damor had recieved only 17,000 votes and reduced to 3rd position. The sight of Malaviya lagging has delighted BJP's internal dissenters and Congress voters alike, albeit for different reasons.

A BAP victory would be historic, as Narendra Modi himself campaigned for the BJP, while no major leader campaigned for BAP.

BAP's campaign was conducted locally with limited resources and without media hype. Meanwhile, in Bagidora, the BJP also appears to be losing ground, indicating that Malaviya is struggling even in his home territory.

At the core of BAP's ideology lies a commitment to social justice, equity, and empowerment. By championing the cause of indigenous communities, BAP seeks to redress historical injustices, promote inclusive development, and safeguard tribal rights. Its agenda encompasses land rights, access to education and healthcare, economic opportunities, and cultural preservation.

"A significant segment of the Adivasi community is looking towards capable leadership, akin to that of the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP), for political representation. They were really disillusioned with the major parties as they havent really done anything for the larger tribal populace in all these years" National spokesperson of BAP, Dr Jitendra Meena stated.
