Rajasthan: Teen girl allegedly gang-raped, burnt in Bhilwara village

Bhilwara— In a horrifying incident that took place in Bhilwara district, the 14-year-old minor was murdered and burnt in a coal furnace. The deceased girl's family alleged that the teen was gang raped and the accused burnt her body to destroy evidences. Police has taken few suspects belonging from the Kalbeliya community in custody.

The matter came to light at 10 o'clock on Wednesday night in a village under the Kotri police station area.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the cops from four different police stations promptly reached the spot, raided the area and took three suspects into custody.

The victim's elder brother revealed that the girl had left the house with goats at 8 am on Wednesday but did not return home. The family and villagers began searching for her, and around 10 pm, they found her shoes, a charred silver bracelet, and pieces of bone in a coal furnace belonging to the Kalbelia community outside the village. Villagers held few people from the spot. 

The police were informed about the incident and burning by the arrested miscreants, which led to a swift response from law enforcement. The forensic team was called to the spot on the night itself, and the investigation has been ongoing since then.

The incident sparked outrage among the victim's community, with demanded to call the District Collector and SP on the spot to address the situation. Bhilwara SP Adarsh Sidhu told the media that Prima Facie it appeared the girl was murdered and burnt in the furnace , whether she was gang raped would only be known after the FSL and medical examination reports are revealed. The SP said the assailants would be arrested soon and we will make sure that the perpetrators get the maximum punishment possible for the gruesome act. 

Prominent figures, including the State President of Rajasthan Gurjar Mahasabha, former Minister Kalulal Gurjar, and District President Shankarlal Gurjar, reached the spot to express solidarity with the grieving family and demand justice for the victim.

Ex-Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and many BJP leaders took to Twitter to condemn the incident and lashed at the deteriorating law and order situation in the state with increasing atrocities on women. 

The BJP has formed a committee, comprising MLA Anita Bhadel, President of Mahila Morcha Raksha Bhandari, and former MLA Atar Singh Bhadana, to investigate the case further. Minister of State Dheeraj Gurjar has also visited the spot, expressing his condemnation of the incident.
