Hyderabad- The All India OBC Students Association (AIOBCSA) has intensified its ongoing movement demanding the implementation of 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in Telangana. In line with the pre-election promise, the Association organized a “BC Satyagraha” at the Arts College, Osmania University, urging the Union Government to include the Telangana BC reservation bills in the Ninth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.

Addressing the gathering, AIOBCSA National President Dr. G. Kiran Kumar stated, “This is not merely a political commitment — it represents the rightful culmination of a century-long struggle for social equality by the Bahujans. To ensure fair and proportional participation of BCs in governance, the implementation of 42% reservations is non-negotiable.”

The Association strongly criticized the Telangana State Government for its continued silence and lack of a concrete action plan. “We will not stop this movement. Students across the state are united in support of BC rights. If necessary, we are prepared to take this agitation to Delhi,” said AIOBCSA National Secretary B. Mahesh Goud.

The Association announced that the campaign would continue to gain momentum with the active support of youth and student communities across Telangana. A series of protests and Satyagrahas are planned in various districts as part of the larger movement.

Several prominent leaders extended their support by participating in the Satyagraha, including BC Intellectual Forum Convenor and retired IAS officer T. Chiranjeevulu, All India Bahujan Samaj Forum founder and retired DGP Dr. Poornachandra Rao, National BC Welfare Association President Jajula Srinivas Goud, BC Sangham National Vice President Gujju Satyam, Social Justice Party President Pidikili Raju, and JAC leader Dr Avaru Venu.

A large number of students from Osmania University also took part in the protest, expressing their solidarity with the cause and reaffirming their commitment to the struggle for social justice.
