Defense Minister to Offer Chadar at Ajmer Sharif Dargah Today

Ajmer- On Sunday, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will present a 'chadar' at Ajmer Sharif Dargah to commemorate the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Former Vice President of the Dargah Committee, Munawar Khan, will present the chadar on Singh's behalf.

Singh departs Jaipur at noon and reaches Ajmer by 2 p.m. After the presentation, his message is read aloud from the Buland Darwaza.

This follows the presentation of a 'chadar' on Saturday by former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, also sent to mark the 813th Urs. Khadim Syed Afshan Chishti stated that Raje's 'chadar' was brought to the shrine by BJP National executive member Majeed Malik Commando. Prayers were offered for peace and harmony in the country and for Raje's well-being.

Union Minority and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also offered a 'chadar' at the dargah on Saturday on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rijiju arrived in Ajmer with the 'chadar' and offered prayers for peace and harmony in the country. Union Minister Rijiju read out a message from Prime Minister Modi, extending his greetings to followers of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti worldwide and emphasizing the saint's messages of humanity and public welfare. The Prime Minister's message also noted that the annual Urs celebration plays a pivotal role in strengthening the bonds of unity and mutual respect among people.
