NSO to Host Conference on Latest Labour Survey Data at Gokhale Institute, Pune on Sep 26

New Delhi- The National Statistics Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI), will host a one-day Data User Conference on September 26, at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), Pune. The conference will focus on the recently released results of the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) 2023-24, aiming to enhance stakeholders' understanding and utilization of the data for policymaking and research.

The event will highlight the latest insights from the PLFS, which provides continuous labour market data, replacing previous quinquennial surveys. Discussions will cover employment and unemployment estimates, workforce participation, educational attainment, and gender disparities.

Key speakers include Dr. Vijay Kelkar, Chairman of Pune International Centre, Dr. Ajit Ranade, Vice Chancellor of GIPE, and Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI. The conference will feature panel discussions, interactive sessions, and a live YouTube stream to broaden access to the event.
