New Delhi- In a ceremony held at Rajghat, New Delhi, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated a distinctive railway coach dedicated to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi. During the event, Minister Shekhawat highlighted that Mahatma Gandhi's life continues to serve as a powerful source of inspiration, with his principles of non-violence (ahimsa) remaining highly relevant in today’s global political landscape.

The Minister also emphasized that the government is actively pursuing Gandhi's vision of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat,' particularly in areas like defense and technology. Additionally, he pointed out that climate change, a pressing issue brought on by the excessive exploitation of natural resources, can be mitigated by adhering to Gandhi’s teachings. He encouraged the public to adopt Gandhiji's wisdom in preserving trees and the environment.

The special railway coach, donated by the Ministry of Railways, features sculptures that vividly capture Gandhi’s travels and his interactions with fellow passengers, offering visitors an immersive insight into his rail journeys. This tribute aims to bring Gandhi’s experiences to life for all who visit.
