‘The Mooknayak’ honored with International Award for its public interest journalism

New Delhi— The Ambedkar Association of North America (AANA) has honored The Mooknayak with the AANA International Award 2022. The award was presented at an event held in the city of Detroit, Michigan, United States.

Pankaj Meshram, Secretary, AANA, said that this international award is given in recognition of social work that is informed by the teachings of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Phule, Savitri Bai Phule, and Gautam Buddha as well as the economic and social impact of this work at a broader level. The Mooknayak, a media organization in India, was selected by the jury for the International Award this year.

The Mooknayak has been given this award for its sensitive reporting of Dalit, Adivasi, minority, and women's issues and for raising the voice of the oppressed communities. In an event organized on the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar, The Mooknayak's delegate was presented with the International Award trophy, certificate, and prize money.
