Focus on Investment, Trade, and India's Manufacturing Hub Potential

New Delhi- Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is on a two-day visit to the United States, where he held crucial meetings with business leaders and members of the Indian diaspora in New York.

During his visit, Minister Goyal met with prominent investors, including BlackRock COO Robert Goldstein, Systems Technology Group Chairman and CEO Anup Popat, and CEO of Newsweek, Dev Pragad. The discussions centered on collaboration opportunities to establish India as a global manufacturing hub and encouraged investors to expand their commercial presence in India. The Minister sought insights from industry experts to further enhance the ease of doing business in the country.

A luncheon with the US India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) saw Minister Goyal reaffirm the government’s dedication to improving the business climate, infrastructure development, intellectual property rights (IPR) reforms, and promoting manufacturing sectors through tailored incentive programs. Investors expressed their optimism regarding the new policies focused on innovation, job creation, and sustainable industrial growth.

The day included discussions with members of Indiaspora, a nonprofit organization, and chapters of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) from New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. These dialogues highlighted the global influence of the Indian diaspora and the vast opportunities it presents for India’s development.

Additionally, an interaction with key players from New York's Gems and Jewellery industry, organized by the Consulate General of India, showcased India's significant role in the global market. Minister Goyal emphasized the potential for increased collaboration, investment, and innovation to drive growth in this vital sector, marking a pivotal step toward strengthening ties and unlocking mutual benefits.
