New Delhi- Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Delhi to advance Cooperative Intelligence (CI), an AI system aimed at enhancing interaction and cooperation between machines and people. The partnership involves joint research between Honda's engineers and IIT Delhi researchers to develop technologies focused on reducing traffic collisions and enabling automated driving.

The MoU was signed by key officials from both organizations, including IIT Delhi's Dean of Corporate Relations, Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, and HCIL's Senior Vice President, Udit Kumar. The collaboration will leverage IIT Delhi's research expertise and Honda's practical applications to fast-track innovations in AI-powered mobility.

Honda's ongoing work on CI, currently being tested in Japan, will benefit from this partnership, with joint research themes such as environmental recognition and cooperative behavior development. Honda and IIT Delhi plan to test and refine these technologies in the suburbs of Delhi, aiming for global application in driver assistance and automated driving.
