New Delhi- Indian People in Solidarity with Palestine (IPSP) organized a protest demonstration in front of Israel embassy in solidarity with the “Global march to Gaza” and against the ongoing genocide of Palestinian people. The protest demonstration was joined by members and activists of Revolutionary Workers’ Party of India (RWPI), Disha Students’ Organization, and Naujawan Bharat Sabha (NBS) along with common students and progressive individuals.

During the protest demonstration, protestors burned the photo of Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli national flag. Slogans were raised which called for a free Palestine and to stop the war and genocide in Gaza.

Delhi police immediately gathered at the protest site in large numbers and has brutally beaten, harrassed and detained activists of Indian People in Solidarity with Palestine. Activists who are bleeding because of the brutal assault are taken to Tughlaq Road Police Station. Two groups of detained activists are being taken to other police stations, exact locations of which have not been ascertained till now. Delhi Police personnel also assualted and harrassed media persons and snatched their cameras.

The protest demonstration was joined by members and activists of Revolutionary Workers’ Party of India (RWPI), Disha Students’ Organization, and Naujawan Bharat Sabha (NBS) along with common students and progressive individuals.

Indian People in Solidarity with Palestine condemns the brutal repression by the fascist modi government and stands tall against the genocide of the Palestinians by the Zionist Israel. The brutal repression by the Delhi Police again demonstrates the close friendship between the Zionist Israeli government and the Fascist Modi government. Protestors were detained till late evening, until people started calling and pressuring the Delhi police to release them.

The Modi government, while it officially continues to recognise Palestine as a sovereign state on paper, in reality it has left no stone unturned in providing diplomatic, economic and techological support to Israel in its attempt to wipe Palestine off the face of earth. Not only has been the Modi government repressing every pro-palestine voice in India through its police, but also using the genocide as an opportunity to further villianise the muslims in the country.

Many students sustained injuries during the scuffle.

Till 18th June 56,152 people have been killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023. More than 50,000 children in Gaza have either been killed or injured since the beginning of the Genocide in Israel, according to UNICEF. 50 percent of hospitals, 90 percent of schools and more than 70 percent of all buildings in Gaza have been razed to ground. The scale and the severity of the ongoing genocide in Palestine is unprecedented in recent times.

The protestors were forcibly removed from the site.

Today, people from across the globe are raising their voices in support of Palestine and various measures are being taken by organizations, activists and common people worldwide to put pressure on Israel to break the siege and stop the genocide. Freedon Flotilla Coalition's attempt to deliver aid to the starving people of Gaza, Global March To Gaza's attempts to break the Israeli blockade of humanitarian aid through Rafah border, and frequent mass mobilisations in various metropolitan cities throughout the world motivates every justice-loving individual to stand and speak against the genocidal settler-colonial Zionist state of Israel.

In light of these developments, IPSP asserts the urgent need to stand boldly in opposition to oppression and injustice. In today’s world, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian struggle is not merely an act of political consciousness—it is a moral imperative, a demand of humanity.

IPSP will continue to carry these protest demonstrations until an effective resolution of Palestine crisis and the Gaza genocide is achieved. IPSP will rally in support of Gaza and keep voicing the cause of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian nation.
