Lucknow- The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to dismiss 26 doctors from the state medical services for not showing up to work on time and for being negligent in their duty.

According to reports, the 26 doctors will also have their salary increases stopped and will be given censure entries. The government had earlier dismissed several other doctors for similar reasons.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who also acts as the state's health minister, said, "All the medical officers of the state are diligently providing high-quality medical services to the general public, but there are many medical officers among them who are being negligent towards their duties."

Due to this, he said, the general public is not getting the benefit of medical services and the image of the department and the government is getting tarnished. The process for dismissing the 26 doctors has been started at the government level.
