MDNIY to Host Continuing Medical Education Program

Renowned experts to impart knowledge on yoga's therapeutic applications

New Delhi- The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) is organizing a six-day continuing medical education program for doctors, Ayush teachers, and scientists to enhance and upgrade their academic and therapeutic expertise in yoga. The program will run from August 19 to 24, 2024, at the institute’s premises.

The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for the participants to deepen their understanding of the critical areas of yoga and to advance their knowledge across both traditional and contemporary scientific frameworks. The program will offer a blend of traditional yoga principles with the latest research insights, and will cover topics such as textual knowledge of yoga, yogic practices for wellness, the therapeutic applications of yoga, recent scientific research trends in yoga, and modern teaching methodologies.

Leading experts in yoga research from across India will be participating to impart their knowledge. The program is expected to attract 30 selected participants from across the country.

Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director, MDNIY, said, “This initiative sponsored by Ministry of Ayush, supported by Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, is aimed at enhancing the capacity of Ayush doctors to incorporate Yoga into their standard medical practices.”

He further said, “The Ministry’s Continued Medical Education (CME) program is specifically designed to equip Ayush doctors with evidence-based knowledge to seamlessly integrate Yoga into their day-to-day practice.”
