New Delhi- Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the government is committed to working towards the goal of poverty-free villages. To achieve this objective, he said that it is necessary to impart skills to the people and develop their capacity.

During his visit to the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj in Hyderabad, the minister said that rural areas and villages are being provided with road connectivity, drinking water, and power supply by the government. He said that employment generation is also a crucial factor for rural development, noting that 10 crore women in the country have acquired skills and are playing a significant role in changing the country's economy.

The minister expressed his determination to make a poverty-free village a reality for all. He said that achieving self-sufficiency for rural areas is not difficult.

Union ministers Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and Kamlesh Paswan were also present on the occasion. The NIRD PR signed MoUs with the JNU and the IIPA for academic and research purposes. The minister also launched an online course for Gram Rozgar Sevak (GRS) and a model double-bedroom house for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.
