New Delhi- On the second day of the National Security Strategies Conference 2024, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, outlined a comprehensive strategy to boost counter-terrorism efforts, emphasizing the need for stronger collaboration with international agencies and enhanced measures to combat terror financing.

He also called for closer coordination between the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Anti-Terrorist Squads (ATS) to reinforce the nation's counter-terrorism framework. Shah expressed satisfaction with recent successes in the fight against Maoist insurgency, while advising states that have achieved progress in securing former conflict areas to remain vigilant.

In his concluding remarks, Amit Shah urged state Directors General of Police (DGPs) to work towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a prosperous and strong India by 2047. He noted that significant progress has been made in addressing long-standing national security issues in Jammu & Kashmir, Left Wing Extremism (LWE), and the North-East. However, he stressed the importance of proactively identifying and addressing emerging security challenges, including narcotics, rogue drones, and online fraud, before they escalate into larger threats.

The Home Minister urged police leaders to form teams of young officers to focus on innovative approaches to combating financial crimes, including cryptocurrency fraud and hawala transactions. He stressed the importance of integrating data analytics and advanced techniques to strengthen the internal security infrastructure.
