Haryana to kick off Kharif crop procurement from October 1

Groundnut, moong, tur, urad, sesame to be procured at MSP

Chandigarh- The procurement of Kharif season pulses and oilseeds in Haryana will commence from October 1, with crops such as moong, groundnut, tur, urad, and sesame being purchased at the minimum support price set by the Central Government. HAFED will also be involved in the procurement process.

As per the procurement schedule, moong will be bought from October 1 to November 15, while groundnut procurement will take place between November 1 and December 31. Additionally, crops like tur, urad, and sesame will be procured from December 1 to December 31.

During a review meeting in Chandigarh, Chief Secretary Dr. T.V.S.N. Prasad emphasized the importance of timely procurement and ensuring adequate storage and packaging materials in the mandis. He also noted that Haryana is expected to see an increase in Kharif crop production this year, with estimated outputs of 27,197 tonnes of moong, 238 tonnes of tur, 85 tonnes of urad, 471 tonnes of sesame, and 9,668 tonnes of peanuts.
